Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of the Belgians goes on a UNICEF-led mission to Kenya. UNICEF supported schools for displaced children in remote villages and refugee camps offered the mission an opportunity to engage local authorities on important efforts to provide quality education and health care for vulnerable peoples. Her Majesty was accompanied by her daughter, Princess Elisabeth.

Ethiopia launched the Community Health Academy to help health workers use digital technology to improve health system capacity. Global Peace Inter-Generational Dialogues

The President of Ghana and Mrs. Graça Machel host the first of 100 Inter-Generational Dialogues which brought young future leaders into conversations on peace and development with current world leaders. The results of these inclusive global dialogues will be combined into a Global Peace Charter and presented to the United Nations Secretary-General.

Education Above All Leaving No One Behind

Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, founder of Education Above All (EAA) foundation, traveled to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to visit projects implemented by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, as part of EAA’s Educate a Child Programme. The goal: to enroll more than 450,000 refugee and displaced children in school. The programme has already provided more than 10 million out of school children in 50 countries with access to education.
