His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II delivers lecture at the Islamic Education Trusts Fund’s 50th anniversary

On January 18, His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II, The Emir of Kano, addressed the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Islamic Education Trust in Minna, Niger State. In his speech, he covered issues of education, malnutrition and poverty and how religion has a role to play in addressing these developmental issues. His Highness warned that misdefining and misunderstanding religious priorities have given rise to such issues.

His Highness also identified the barriers between children and education, such as language, technology and Dawah – the silence and the challenge of self-reflection and focus on these sustainable development issues. He concluded on a hopeful note: “Northern Nigeria is better than this, we should not be the poverty capital of the world, we are better than this”.
