His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II at the Interfaith Dialogue for Peace Forum’s Third General Assembly and Peace Conference
On 22 January, 2020, His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II addressed the 3rd Annual General Assembly for Peace Conference of the Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace held in Abuja, Nigeria. The theme of the Conference was “Inter-Religious Dialogue: Strengthening the Culture of Peace, Reconciliation, and Justice”. In his speech, His Highness urged leaders and politicians in the country to protect the interests of the poor and most vulnerable and to leave no one behind.
His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II stressed that leaving no one behind will reduce illiteracy, poverty and social vices. He made a strong call for peaceful coexistence among religions, and for each to respect the ethics and values of others: “Christians and Muslims must come together and fight the major challenges facing us, which are malnutrition, drug problems, out of school children and poverty among many others.”
Unity and solidarity are key to tackling these challenges, and to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
