A Forest Positive Future: Accelerating the Decade of Delivery
Partnership is critical to a successful transition to deforestation-free commodities. Companies need government and civil society support to move from commitments in the boardrooms to sustainable economic development at the forest frontier. Despite strong momentum, independent assessments indicate however that the international community will miss its target of eliminating commodity-driven deforestation by 2020, but efforts can be increased and accelerated.
The Tropical Forest Alliance Annual Meeting 2019 in Bogota, Colombia, co-hosted by the Government of Colombia and TFA Colombia Alliance aims to tackle these issues by focusing on how to scale up the transformation of global and regional leadership and promote innovative business models geared at galvanizing tangible action on the forest and commodities agenda.
Under the theme, A Forest Positive Future: Accelerating the Decade of Delivery, the 4th TFA Annual Meeting will convene 150 high-level global and regional leaders from governments, business and civil society to accelerate efforts to reduce commodity-driven deforestation.
